We screeched into the parking lot at Stir in northern Cincinnati with about ten minutes to spare before the big kickoff party hosted by Nehemiah Manufacturing and Boogie Wipes started at noon. I’d picked Norine up at the airport a mere hour before, because why make things easy? The city of Cincinnati looked quite charming as we careened through it at top speed.
We walked into this amazingly cool space set up with sixty goody bags, stacks of books, a catered lunch, giant boogie Wipes/SOP banner, and a huge screen playing a slideshow of cartoons from the book. It was so far beyond our wildest expectations. Company President Richard Palmer, Eric Wellinghoff, VP of Marketing and other staff were there to greet us, and they had invited a slew of local bloggers and friends.
They opened the program with an overview of their company and mission. Nehemiah manufacturing is doing amazing things in the Cincinnati community, their corporate goal is to create jobs and career paths for people who could use a second chance or a need help transitioning from hard times into stability.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with a company that is so focused on doing what they can to create opportunity for people in their community. Their products — Boogie Wipes, Kandoo wash and wipes, Dreft, Downy Wrinkle Releaser, among others — are pretty kick-ass, too.
We had a great talk with Eric, brainstorming some new ways that we can grow our partnership, and geeking out on analytics. We’ve got so many fun ideas I can’t wait to share with you guys. Though I am huge advocate of working remotely, there is nothing quite like being able to meet face-to-face that really gets the creative juices flowing.
